Check Imaging

While a check reader collects all the information a merchant needs to verify and process a check via ACH (Automated Clearing House), a check imager is necessary to obtain a copy of the check.

When is it important to have a copy of the check? The only contact information on the writer of the check is printed on the check itself. If you do not have the check or a copy of the check, there is no way to obtain this information. "Check 21" is the only check processing technology that requires an image of the check. However, your check processor is your best source for information on the type of device you need.

Single-side imaging. The MagTek MICRImage is perfect for ACH processing of POP, ARC, or RCK applications. It reads the MICR line and captures a black and white or gray scale image of the front of the check. It also has an optional 3-track mag stripe reader available.

Automated Check Imaging
For merchants processing a high volume of checks the Excella all-in-one solution proves a valuable tool. The automatic feeder can hold up to 70 documents. As the Excella draws each check, it reads the MICR and records a digital image of both sides of the check. It also features an ink jet printer that can print a single programmable endorsement line.

Dual-side single-feed
The MagTek Excella STX provides MICR line date, and image of the front and the back of the check, and has options for endorsing the back of the check, franking the front of the check as well as an optional mag stripe reader. In addition, the STX can image ID cards in black and white, gray scale, or color.
